Thomas E. Palzer is an American author whose writing is shaped by a lifetime spent observing people, institutions, conflict, responsibility, and the consequences of difficult choices.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, Palzer served on the island of Crete, Greece, in intelligence and communications during a period of intense geopolitical tension. After his military service, he began a long career in urban and regional planning, public administration, transportation, economic development, and community planning. Over the decades, his work placed him at the intersection of government, law, infrastructure, development, and public decision-making.
His professional life eventually included senior leadership roles in regional transportation and planning organizations serving the Chicago metropolitan area. Earlier in his career, he worked extensively in land-use planning, zoning, housing, environmental review, economic development, emergency planning, and municipal government. He also owned and operated a family business producing custom promotional puzzles for major corporate clients.
